As of Sept. 2, 2000, there are around 8 Grand Champion Cane Corsos in the world...- Cerberus's paternal uncle, GRAND CH. Smokey -littermate to Cerb's father Primus of Colosseum Shadows- is one of those 8.
- This same uncle is also the #1 "Dog Of The Year" 2 years in a row, 1998 & 1999.
- Also, Cerb's maternal grandfather, GRAND CH. Prince Del Cerberus -father of Cerb's mother, Chilipepper of Colosseum Shadows and his aunt Corsa- is another of those 8 Grand Champions.
- Another of Cerb's uncles -brother of Colosseum Shadows' Chilipepper's father- is WORLD CHAMPION Paco.
- Cerb's paternal grandmother, 2xCH.Bacci Di Morte -mother of Cerb's father, Colosseum Shadows' Primus- was the #1 "Bitch Of The Year" in 1994.
CERBERUS DEL COLOSSEO and all other COLOSSEUM SHADOWS Cane Corso unquestionably come from good stock and it undeniably shows.
Some Corsos beginning at around 140 lbs. can begin to look rather low-slung and somewhat barrel-bodied. NOT CERBERUS! Neither he nor Dorado, nor Lucca, nor ANY of their other brothers or sisters have that deficit. They are tall - with the amount of leg needed for the speed this breed is noted for. All of them have broad, deep chests with the upswept flanks curving up towards the rear giving them a very athletic appearance. I've not seen better built Corsos in the large category than Cerb and his brothers (they've inherited the athletic builds of their Italian progenitors, Ballo Orso, 135 lbs., and Cocomo, 130 lbs.)
